What it does

What works today, and what doesn't yet, goal by goal.

Checked against the code and its tests on 2026-10-24.

Reach any machine

Open a terminal on your own machine from any browser, on any network that lets the web out. It feels as fast as sitting at it.

  • works today A terminal on a Linux machine of yours, in a pane, from any browser.
  • works today Wifi drops and the phone takes over: the shell carries on, nothing lost.
  • works today It goes direct when the network allows, and through the relay when it doesn't.
  • next The machine's desktop in a pane, while the machine itself stays locked.

Share exactly

You decide who reaches each thing. A person, a device or an agent gets exactly what it was given, and nothing in between can read it.

  • works today Your own devices join from one you already trust, and you can revoke any one of them.
  • works today The relay forwards sealed bytes, with post-quantum key exchange.
  • next Share a folder or a terminal with a person, in one step.
  • later Let an agent into one folder until Friday, and see what it did.

Every copy in sync

Your files on every device you choose, merged when they meet, with no edit lost.

  • works today Open a file on any of your machines, from any device, and it saves back there.
  • next Choose the devices each folder is kept on, and how many copies.

Works with what you have

Your files stay plain files in folders, and your devices stay yours. Nothing to convert.

  • works today Any browser, a phone's included, with nothing to install.
  • works today Linux machines, with one line in a terminal and no root.
  • next macOS and Windows machines.
  • works today Markdown opens and saves back byte for byte; git sees only the lines you changed.
  • later Your own editors and tools on its files, such as VS Code or ssh.

Easy to start, free to leave

No sign-up and no server of your own. Your data is already in standard formats on your devices, so leaving costs nothing.

  • works today Try it: your own account, at an address of its own, in a minute.
  • works today No server of your own: the relay forwards for you, and can't read what it carries.
  • works today Nothing to export when you leave: your files never left your machines.
  • later Run every part yourself, from its open source.

Arrange your work

Tools tiled side by side, like i3, on a desktop or a phone.

  • works today Tiled panes, numbered workspaces and tabs in any pane.
  • works today Every action from the keyboard, and also in one click or tap.
  • works today On a phone, a deck of panes with a bar to switch them.
  • next Your layout comes back on another device, in one step.

Offline is another place to work

Read and edit with no connection, and it syncs when you're back.

  • later Your files readable and editable with no connection.
  • later What you changed offline syncs by itself when a connection returns.

Yours to shape

Each tool useful with no setup, and yours to change.

  • works today One launcher opens any tool; held keys show what each one does.
  • works today Light and dark, following your system.
  • later Change how a tool works, and keep your change.
  • later Make a tool of your own, and use it like the built-in ones.

Together

Work with someone in real time: each sees the other's edit within a second.

  • works today Two of your devices edit one file at once, live, and both keep their edits.
  • later Share a pane, a workspace or your whole screen with another person.
  • later An agent edits beside you, and its changes show like a person's.

Measure what you care about

Your time, your network and your devices, recorded on your own devices.

  • works today Each pane shows whether it goes direct or through the relay.
  • later A timesheet of your time in each tool.
  • later Each device's CPU, memory and storage, and each link's round trip over time.
